The beginner tier is about survival and momentum. Before you can outplay anyone, you need to understand the fundamentals that every game is built on: where to land, how fast to expand, and when to fight vs. when to shake hands. Most new players lose not because of bad decisions mid-game, but because they start wrong. A poor spawn, a mismanaged ratio, or three buildings in the wrong order can cap your entire run before real competition even shows up. These three lessons give you a repeatable opening sequence that works on any map, the troop habits that keep you alive through first contact, and the building order that funds everything that comes after.

1Spawn, bot-rush & early expansion
Everything in OpenFront starts with where you land. A great spawn multiplies your early growth; a bad one can permanently cap you. This lesson covers the full opening sequence from spawn selection through the bot-rush phase and your first annexations.

2Alliance management, troop flow & defense posts
Your first contact with real players will either make or break your early game. This lesson covers when to ally vs. attack, how to manage your troop count so you never get caught empty, and where to place defense posts for maximum value.

3Initial buildings: cities, ports & sequencingYour first three buildings define your economic arc for the whole game. Get the sequencing wrong and you will either stall on gold or fall behind on troop cap. This lesson teaches what to build, when, and how many, with FFA vs team game differences.
